School boundary changes are among some of the options considered as the South Lyon School district handles increased elementary and middle school enrollments.

A task force made up of parents, teachers and administrators is hosting public hearings at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3, Dec. 17, Jan. 12 and Jan. 21 in the South Lyon High School media center to listen to comments from residents. Agendas will be posted on the school district website, slcs.us.

In addition to boundaries, the task force will consider adding portable classrooms, changing school of choice practices, using current spaces in non-traditional ways and relocating the district’s preschool offerings and other programs, said Maureen Altermatt, district assistant superintendent for administrative services.
